Member Rebate Program
As part of our commitment to give back to our membership, members are eligible to receive rebates from the credit union at each year-end. Based on your individual investments, loans and mortgages, you will be entitled to a percentage of annual profits earned. You'll earn rebates on the interest earned on your investments and on the interest paid on your loans and mortgages.
Who is eligible for Starnews Membership?
Membership is open to all employees (and their families) of Torstar Corporation.
What do I need to open a Starnews Membership?
You will require:
- Two photocopies of identification pieces (one must be photo ID); you should note that due to government regulations we are unable to accept photocopies of your Ontario Health Card.
- $25 Membership Share - your membership share, which is held in trust for you, is your ownership in Starnews Credit Union. It represents your democratic right to participate in the annual meeting to elect your Board of Directors and gives you access to all our accounts, services and rebates.
